The life of every garment depends on the right care. Please always pay close attention to the instruction label.
Bleaching
Do not use chlorine-based bleaches.
Dry-cleaning
Unless stated otherwise on the care label, the garment can be dry cleaned.
Water proofing Treatment of the Outer Material
Waterproofing treatment does not affect the performance of the Sport(S)Street membrane, but, provided applied properly, acts as a dirt and water repellent. If the outer fabric is soaked through, this causes heat loss. Good waterproofing therefore also protects from the cold. The outer fabrics of garments with the Sports(S)Street finish are treated during the manufacturing process. As this treatment is not permanent, the garment should be treated with a waterproofing product. When water no longer forms beads on the surface of the fabric. Ironing (without steam) in accordance with the care label reactivates the water-repellent impregnation effect. Treatment should be repeated after about three washes.
Repairs
Despite the most careful handling, clothing can get damaged. In the case of waterproof clothing even tiny tears and holes can enable water to penetrate. Because of the special design of Sports(S)Street clothing, damage of this kind should only be repaired by a specialist.
Sorting tips
Always separate the man-made fabrics, like polyester from natural fibers such as cotton. This is because natural fibers release oils and man-made fibers can attract these oils during washing, making spots more prominent.
Before washing don't forget to zip all your zippers and close all your Velcro patches to prevent abrasion on the fabric.
DWR
A fabric with DWR (Durable Water Repellant) resists water and yet allows breathability. However, DWR treatments can start to diminish after 2-3 washings. |
